The main richness of bilberry are antioxidants. It is known that they connect free electrons and do not allow to be formed by it to substandard tumors, influencing organism at the cellular level. Thus, bilberry is good means for prevention of cancer diseases. Bilberry antioxidants are called anthocyanins. They are in garden radish, blackberry, apples, red cabbage and dark grapes. However the record on the maintenance of antiokisdant, undoubtedly, belongs to bilberry.
So, bilberry is especially rich with carbohydrates, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium. There are in it also organic acids, sodium, copper, iron and other mineral substances. Except the mentioned vitamin C, in bilberry there are B1 and V6 vitamins, RR vitamin, and also pantothenic acid.
Among other things, bilberry is rich with pectins which are capable to clean intestines from products of decomposition, slags and even salts of heavy metals.
