The graphitizing modifiers (ferrosilikobariya) are used to inokuliruyushchy modifying of a gray and high-test cast iron and cast iron with vermikulyarny graphite. They are much more effective than the FS75 ferrosilicium which is traditionally used for the same purpose.
One of the most widespread of the graphitizing modifiers is the ferrosilicium with Fs65ba4 barium possessing the high graphitizing ability, increasing cast iron durability by 20-25%.

The graphitizing modifiers (ferrosilikobariya) are used to inokuliruyushchy modifying of a gray and high-test cast iron and cast iron with vermikulyarny graphite. They are much more effective than the FS75 ferrosilicium which is traditionally used for the same purpose. The material consumption upon transition to modifiers with barium and strontium can decrease by 2-3 times.
One of the most widespread of the graphitizing modifiers is the ferrosilicium with Fs65ba4 barium possessing the high graphitizing ability, increasing cast iron durability by 20-25%.
Alloys with barium are more effective, than other modifiers for processing of cast iron in high-capacity ladles when pouring in forms takes a long time.
Use of ferrosilicium with barium for cast iron of cupola heat at rather low temperatures is possible 1320-13400C. Duration of operation of the modifier in essential degree increases already at the content of barium in an alloy of 1,7-2,4%.
The main requirements to the graphitizing modifiers are:
- has beaten off elimination in iron castings (or structurally free cementite);
- increase in duration of preservation of the modifying effect that is very important for large thick-walled castings;
- impact on distribution and the amount of inclusions of lamellar graphite and increase of isotropy of structure and mechanical properties of cast iron in different-walled fasoony castings of a difficult configuration.

Modifiers with barium are delivered in pieces or a shredded look on a size or other coordinated fraction.
On a surface of pieces the oxide film and a raid of lime, oxides and slag inclusions is allowed.
Shredded ferrosilicium with barium is delivered packed into steel drums.
