Magnesium primary in chushka is intended for production of alloys, magniyetermichesky processes, desulphuration of cast iron as chemical reagent, and also for modifying of cast iron and steel deoxidation and alloys.
Magnesium - silver-white brilliant metal, rather soft, flexible and forgeable.
In metallurgy it is applied as a reducer in production of some valuable metals - vanadium, chrome, titanium, zirconium, and is also used as a basis of light alloys. Magnesium has big chemical affinity with oxygen therefore is able to take away it from some oxides. The magniyetermiya which has gained huge value is based on this property and it is widely used in metallurgy. Magniyetermiya is a basis of production of beryllium and titanium; with its help also receive chrome, zirconium and vanadium.
Widely apply magnesium alloys with aluminum, zinc and manganese. Aluminum and zinc increase alloy durability, manganese increases its anticorrosive properties. Magnesium gives to an alloy ease - parts from magnesium alloy 20 — 30% easier aluminum and 50 — 75% easier pig-iron and steel.
Alloys of this element are used in automotive industry, the textile industry, polygraphy.
1. The fraction of toral mass of impurity should not be more:
chlorine - 0,005% for the brands Mg80, Mg90, Mg95;
potassium - 0,004% for the Mg95 brand;
sodium - 0,004% for the Mg95 brand.
2. Magnesium of the Mg90 brand is at the customer's request produced with a fraction of toral mass of titanium no more than 0,002%.
3. In coordination with the consumer magnesium of a mrka Mg95 is produced with a manganese fraction of toral mass no more than 0,004% at a sodium fraction of toral mass no more than 0,01% and the sum of mass fractions of iron, nickel and copper no more than 0,007%.
4. At the customer's request magnesium of the Mg95 brand is produced with nickel fractions of toral mass no more than 0,0007% and aluminum no more than 0,006%.
Magnesium is produced in the form of chushka weighing 7-9 kg., production of magnesium in chushka weighing from 1,7-2,3 kg to 21,8-22,2 kg is allowed. The surface of chushka should be without flux inclusions and products of burning of magnesium. On a surface of the chushka which were not exposed to anticorrosive processing in coordination with the consumer flux inclusions and products of burning with a total area no more than 25 mm.kv are allowed. and no more than 1 mm in depth. The smoothed-out places and availability of a temper colors are allowed.
